My Approach

Hi there, I'm Sarah (She/They), a registered Social Worker, and I'm here to support you on your path to healing and growth. As a Queer, gender-fluid individual, I bring my own lived experiences to our work together, valuing the insights gained from personal journeys. My approach is rooted in creating a friendly, welcoming space where you can feel comfortable and understood.
I specialize in working with adults and students facing anxiety, depression, stress/burnout, confidence issues, life transitions, relationship challenges, trauma, 2SLGBTQ+ concerns, and borderline personality disorder. If you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or seeking to improve your self-understanding and relationships, I might be the therapist for you. With nearly a decade experience, I'm passionate about helping people achieve meaningful change and growth.
I use a trauma-informed, non-judgmental, and collaborative approach, incorporating elements from attachment theory, psychodynamics, CBT, DBT, and ACT. Where my focus is with a person and, not pathology. Working collaborative to uncover and address the underlying dynamics that impact well-being – take an in-depth look at the interplay of a persons history, systems, and structures.
I work from the position and understanding that life can be painful but we do not need to suffer. I view adversity as existing on a continuum, where pain is an unavoidable part of the human experience within the context of a person’s life. And so healing takes time, and patience to work through and is worth the difficult journey toward understanding ourselves and our experiences as we draw on our inner wisdom and potential to heal and thrive.
I sometimes will involve skills discussions (DBT, CBT, ACT) in a way that is tailored specifically to you. Ensuring that our experience is dynamic and reflective of your personal journey. Depending on what suits you best, our sessions might involve structured conversations or even some homework assignments that we can review and discuss together.
Therapy is a journey to wholeness. You can learn to listen to your body, understand and regulate emotions, develop a nurturing self-relationship, improve how you relate to others, and enhance your overall well-being. If you're ready for positive change, get in touch with me today. Let's uncover your strengths, embrace your narrative, and embark on a transformative journey of healing and growth together.
